  • 4-Year Upward Trend

    Thu 18 Jul 2019

Our Key Stage 2 results were released last week and we are delighted to see that the upward trend in achievement has continued!

    Subject

    Percentage reaching the Expected Standard

    (comparison from last year)

    Reading

    87% (+7%)

    Grammar, Punctuation, Spelling

    87% (+4%)

    Writing

    96% (+11%)

    Maths

    91% (+4%)

    Combined EXS+

    78% (+4%)

It is worth noting that each child = 4.35%

Our writing was also moderated by the Local Authority which validated the excellence in the children’s written work across the curriculum.

Nationally, 65% of children achieved the expected standards in reading, writing and maths. Nationally, 73% achieved the standard in reading; in grammar, punctuation & spelling, 78% achieved the standard and maths 79% of children achieved the standard nationally.

The SATs are incredibly challenging tests and some of the children who didn’t quite meet the expected mark were only one or two marks away. A huge well done to all the team in preparing the children through their primary times.

The staff and the children here have worked incredibly hard and they deserve to be rewarded with great results.

  • ParentMail

    Tue 16 Jul 2019

Communicating with parents is an important part of what we do, making sure you get the correct information about school news, activities and things that really matter is something we care about.

As you are aware we use ParentMail, a service used by over 6,000 schools, nurseries and children’s clubs to communicate to parents. ParentMail will be beneficial to you because you can:

    • Use a free mobile app on Android and iOS to pick up school messages instantly.
    • Have an account simply for school messages (away from your busy email inbox!)
    • Connect to other schools, nurseries or clubs that use ParentMail.
    • Highlight important messages or archive old messages to make life easier.
    • Messages can be sent directly to mums, dads and carers – even grandparents!

Registering with ParentMail is very easy! Over the next few days you will be sent either an email and/or text message from ParentMail, when you receive this please just follow the instructions in the message.

Please be assured that ParentMail is registered with the Information Commissioner and guarantees that all information you provide will be kept private and will not be passed on to any other organisation.

Once registered, if you have an Android or Apple smartphone, we would highly recommend you download the ParentMail App for the best user experience. To do this, simply search for “ParentMail in your App store.

If you need any additional information or assistance, please visit the help site: www.parentmail.co.uk/help/parenthelp/  or if you have not received any contact from ParentMail within 7days please contact the school office.

  • Parent Pay

    Tue 16 Jul 2019
    • From September we will be using +Pay on ParentMail – an online payment service which allows you to pay for school items quickly and easily on your smartphone, tablet or computer.

We will inform you about items you need to pay through ParentMail, and you will be able to pay electronically, using credit or debit cards.

If you have an Android or Apple smartphone, we would highly recommend you download the free ParentMail App so that you can make easy, online payments on the go. To do this, simply search for “ParentMail” in your App store.

We are hoping to go completely cashless over the next few weeks so appreciate your support in making payments electronically. However, if you do not wish to make payments online, you can continue to make cash, cheque and voucher payments.

For those parents who already pay by direct debit into our bank account, you may continue to do so, however paying by +Pay on ParentMail would be the preferred method.

Please note, your bank statement will display either the school name or ParentMail, dependent on your payment method.

If you need any additional information or assistance, please use the help site: www.parentmail.co.uk/help/parenthelp/ or please contact the school office.

Additional information is also on our school website:

  • Playground

    Mon 15 Jul 2019

We have recently being asking for quotes from various playground equipment/development companies to re-vamp and re-invigorate our playground. We have been informed by the Local Authority that we have enough devolved capital to spend on it.  We have asked Jupiter Play (the company that provided the Claypole Community Park) to provide us with an assessment and a quote and we are very much looking forward to beginning its build soon.
