Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
If you missed the deadline to hand in the form to order the children’s Christmas cards, you’re in luck! The company are collecting them from our office on Friday… if you still want to order some, you still have [a little] time left to hand your order in to the school office.
On Wednesday, our school leadership (including our Chair of Governors) conducted interviews for a teacher to work with us for 2 days. Mrs Wicks has requested to change her working hours from 3 days to 1 day due to ill health. We have accepted her request and have subsequently advertised, interviewed and recruited a new teacher to join our team and work with our Year 3 children alongside Mrs Lock.
I am delighted to announce that Mrs Elizabeth Silby will be joining us in January. Mrs Silby has been working at Barrowby Church of England Primary School for the last 9 years and has taught all age ranges in Key Stage 2. Whilst at Barrowby, she has led literacy across the whole school and has been a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Having started her own family, Mrs Silby is interested in working for 2 days as a teacher. We look forward to her working with us all in January 2018 – she will visit us and spend time with us prior to her official start during the Christmas term.
Our PTA AGM meeting will be held at school at 6pm on Tuesday 7th November.
Everyone is welcome! If you able and willing to come, we look forward to seeing you.
Our Christmas Fayre will be Saturday 2nd December in the school from 1pm to 3pm. More details about stalls and crafts will follow during the next half term.
Remember to buy your ticket for Film Night:
KS1 'Room on the Broom' (5-5:30pm) and KS2 'The Lego Batman Movie' (5:45 - 7:15pm).
The price of the ticket (£3.50) includes hotdog, popcorn and drink!
Newark Emmaus Trust have sent their thanks to everyone who kindly donated food to our Harvest Festival. They have written to us and said:
“On behalf of the Newark Emmaus Trust, I would like to thank you for the very kind donation of food from your Harvest Festival. We always view such gifts as an affirmation and recognition of the work the Trust is doing with Newark’s homeless young people and your donation will help to make a difference.”
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Harvest Festival and thank you for your kind donation – it was great for the children to share their work with so many people.
Having spoken to YHA Ravenstor, they will accept payment from us as late as 6 weeks before our arrival; hopefully this will give parents/carers more time to pay and the option to pay in small instalments over a period of time. We hope this helps.
