Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
PTA AGM is hosted at school on Wednesday 30th October (6:30pm) - all VERY welcome :)
It would be lovely to see current & new parents.
We would like to further promote reading by launching a ‘book advent calendar’ for the classes this year. The aim is for every child to receive a book during Advent and the run up to Christmas. We are planning for a team of our children to organise and wrap the books for each class. The children will also be encouraged to exchange them in a ‘book-swap’ when they have finished reading their gift.
We would really appreciate it if you could have a look on your bookshelves to see if there are any books that you are willing to donate to the children to read/share. Mrs Coles has already made a very generous donation of books her children loved reading. If every child donated a book to the ‘Advent Book Calendar,’ it would be a fabulous.
101 years ago the guns fell silent on the world's first truly global war; it is a time to think about all of those who lived through this tragic and remarkable time - and who put Britain on the path to becoming what it is today. Our Year 6 children have organised to bring the Poppy Appeal produce around school; it will continue to come round classes in the afternoon from Tuesday 29tOctober. The suggested prices range from 50p to £1. Money raised through the Poppy Appeal goes directly to The Royal British Legion’s welfare work, providing through-life care to
anyone who currently serves in the British Armed Forces, who has previously served, and their families.
The Christmas Shoebox Appeal sends a message of hope to children in a desperate situation around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes. Thank you to everyone for taking part in the ‘Shoebox Appeal’ this year. Many filled and wrapped shoeboxes were returned into school today – thank you for your generosity involvement in such an important appeal. We hope to put a smile on the faces of children around the world. The shoeboxes are due in for the 8th November.
Our new playground equipment will be installed and ready for the first day back in school in January 2020. Having met with several companies, we have decided to work with Jupiter Play (the company that supplied the Claypole Community Park). We have chosen equipment that will benefit and build balance, agility, lower-body strength and core strength too. The new equipment will incorporate our current tyre park area and rubber stumps too.
We were visited by Mr McDonnell from Blythswood Care during Collective Worship this morning to talk about the Christmas Shoebox Appeal. We have 35 empty shoeboxes in school (with wrapping paper on them) for anyone who would like to make a start - collectable from our office. 🎁
It’s individual & sibling photographs on the morning of Monday 7th October. Children with siblings too young for school are welcome to come in at 8:30 to have a family photo taken. 📸
