Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Unfortunately, there was a rumour on Facebook about a teacher leaving in Key Stage 2.
Please be rest assured that no one in our Key Stage 2 staff is leaving.
As many of you know, Mrs Wicks has been working full time with her Year 5 class this year having changed
her working hours from 3 days to 5 days, and children and staff have thoroughly enjoyed having her full
time. Mrs Wicks has requested to return to teaching for 3 days starting in September 2016. Therefore, we are
advertising for a new teacher to work in Key Stage 2 to help continue to strengthen our teaching team so that
Mrs Wicks can return to working for 3 days at our school. The advert, I was informed, will be out for
Wednesday 23 March - but it may appear that one local authority has published it earlier than specified.
We will endeavour to keep you updated about the appointment.
Thank you to everyone who came to school this evening to see and hear the changes to the curriculum, assessment and KS2 SAT's. Material was shared and there was an opportunity to talk with staff about the changes and challenges teachers (and children) are facing and how parents/carers can help at home too.
The PowerPoint presentation can be found on the 'parents' page under SATs information. Also on the 'parents' page are ideas about how to help at home and year group expectations.
A similar KS1 SATs presentation will be held for parents on Wednesday 23rd March (5 p.m.)
On Friday 18th March 2016 our school took part in Sports Relief. The children all arrived in their sports kits and took part in a range of sport and fitness activities during the course of the day (including a mile run and a carousel of activities). A huge thank you to Mr Heathcote for organising our activities for Sports Relief and thank you to everyone for your donations; together we raised

The Challenge has been set. Are you an Extreme Reader?
Books don’t need electricity! We can read them anywhere and everywhere!
Following on from our successful ‘World Book Day’ celebrations, we are inviting you ALL (including parents/carers...and staff) to take the Claypole Extreme Reading Challenge.
Think about different, exciting and fun places you can enjoy a book.
Children – tell your parent/carer your idea and ask them if they could take a photograph of you reading your book in your ‘extreme’ place and bring it into school after the Easter holidays.
Have Fun Extreme Reading!
