  • Thank you, from our PTA

    Fri 15 Jul 2022

A big thank you from Claypole PTA to everyone who helped make our 2022 Summer Fayre such a huge success!

We were blown away by the generosity shown by our school community with so many donations of raffle/tombola prizes and cakes!

Massive thanks especially to those who were able to help at the event with set up, running of stalls and clearing away - we really appreciate your time and efforts!

We raised a fantastic £1462.04, a huge chunk of that came from the raffle which raised £818.33 on its own! Thank you to all the local businesses who offered such fantastic raffle prizes:

Experience Days; Amanda Campbell Interiors; F. Doncasters Butchers; Belton House NT; J&J Alpacas - The Alpaca Centre & Coffee Shop; The Five Bells Inn, Claypole; The Side House Coffee Shop; The Staunton Arms; Robin Hood Entertainment; Kate Fahey Photography; Pilates with Jo; Pennells, Lincoln; Little Jacks Farm and Garden Centre; Caunton Tennis Club; Starlight Theatre Academy; Caterpillar Music Newark; Beanblockcafe; Celestial Touch; Flowers by the Gate; Hayley Jayne Beauty Retreat; and Gourmazin.

Big thanks also to Morrison's, Newark for their donation of a voucher towards our refreshments.

We were so happy to support some local businesses:

Flowers by the Gate; ItsyBitsyArtsyCorner - face painting; Itsybitsyartsycorner; Izabela Olendzki @ Izabela's Inspirations. Thank you all for your fantastic stalls!

Thank you also to Newark Brazil for organising the penalty shoot out; Sweetiz for donating the bag of sweets for our 'guess the number of sweets' stall & Newark Fire Station for teaching the children the importance of fire safety and showing them round the fire truck!

The funds raised will go towards a new defibrillator for the village (to be located outside of school) as well as school resources.

With only a week left of this school year, Claypole PTA would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support throughout the year. We look forward to hosting more events in the next school year. We hope you have a fantastic summer holiday.

  • Level 3 Heat Wave

    Thu 14 Jul 2022

A Level 3 Heatwave alert is in place for Lincolnshire through to and including Tuesday 19th July.

We have no intention of closing the school; our building is well ventilated and temperatures inside are being monitored too. It is certainly much cooler inside school!

We have kept the gazebos up to create more shade in the playground and will continue to monitor the temperature to judge whether the children’s breaks are indoors or out.

The children will not be taking part in vigorous physical activities on any days where the temperatures are in excess of 30°C. Therefore, both football clubs after school on Monday and Tuesday have been cancelled.

Please make sure the children keep coming to school with a water bottle, hat, wearing shorts or summer-dresses… and have sun cream applied before school.

  • School Games Gold Award

    Wed 13 Jul 2022

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2021/22 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward and recognise school's engagement (provision and uptake) in the School Games against a national benchmark and to celebrate keeping young people active, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success again this year.

  • Sports Day

    Wed 13 Jul 2022

We had a fabulous Sports Day. Thank you to everyone who came and encouraged the children. There was a lovely vibe this morning: full of energy and cheer! Well done to Tinsley House for winning the ‘Effort Cup’ & Coulby for the ‘Overall Winners Cup.’

It’s due to be sunny and warm again on Monday and Tuesday; remember hats & water bottles and apply suncream before school.
