  • Google Classroom Help

    Mon 21 Sep 2020

We understand that from some of the comments over Google Classroom that some families are experiencing difficulties with it. We are looking for ways to help everyone…

In looking for a solution, would it be possible for you to email tech@claypoleprimary.org with any of your "not knowing how to/issues/problems" so that these can be collated into a ‘Google Classroom Workshop(s)’.

The proposed workshop(s) could then be fed back to everyone using worksheets, videos and maybe even via Google Meet if the need arises.

We’ll iron out the bugs together!

  • Sport Commitment

    Fri 18 Sep 2020
We were recognised for our commitment and ongoing achievements in PE/Sports again this year with this certification. Well done to everyone and to Miss Bowles for ensuring our school continues to do well in sport.
  • 11+ update

    Mon 14 Sep 2020

We have spoken with Carres & Sleaford Girls High School regarding contingency plans for any children unable to sit the 11+ tests on Friday 18th & 25th September because they are self-isolating or absence waiting for results etc…

We have been assured that no children will be discriminated against due to the ongoing pandemic. Any child unable to sit the test on the day will be able to sit it on the return to school. Unused papers will be locked away in the school safe. The papers will then be sent off for marking. They have guaranteed that the papers will be marked but unfortunately cannot guarantee that they will be marked in time for the secondary school admission deadline.

  • Dropping Off...

    Wed 09 Sep 2020
Please be respectful of the 2m social distancing rule outside of school and please be respectful of the start times in the morning.
  • TikTok Warning

    Tue 08 Sep 2020

    Good afternoon,

Our e-safety advisor has contact us about a real and particularly nasty viral post going round on TikTok. The TikTok company are dealing with the situation and it should be cleared within the next few days. We are aware that although they are below the age of consent for TikTok, some of our children do have the app on their home devices – you may want to prevent them from using TikTok temporarily.

As a quick reminder about talking about e-safety at home, remember:

      • Remain calm and non-judgemental.
      • Talk to your child/ren about what they would do if they see nasty content and who they would talk to.
      • Be curious - where have they seen this content? Can that channel/account be blocked? Ensure your child (and you) know how to report content.
      • Don't treat 'online' different to real life, to children online is real life. In the same way that we would talk about their day at school, their friends etc. we should have regular discussions about what they are doing online and what to do if something is concerning or upsetting.
      • Support can also be gained from Childline and Papyrus etc.

  • Covid-19

    Mon 07 Sep 2020
We are aware of positive cases being reported in and around the Grantham area. We have been contacted out of courtesy. Our school has not been affected by this. We continue to take the mitigation of risks seriously. Although we are back at school, we are still in the midst of a pandemic. We continue to follow our risk assessment and operating procedures fully; I continue to monitor this throughout the day and ‘tinker’ with procedures. I am also pleased with the way the kiddies are being reintegrated successfully back to school. I would strongly recommend that any parent/carer with a worry or a concern not to post on social media but to contact the school instead. Please be mindful that social media contributions without any foundation causes unnecessary anxiety for everyone at a time when it can be ill afforded. Please be reassured that if during the school day, any of the children begin to show any of the COVID-19 symptoms, they will be safely isolated and we will contact you. Please do keep us updated if you or anyone in your household develop symptoms. On the opposite page, there is a flowchart that will help families make the decision as to whether to send their child/ren to school or not. The tide of positivity has carried us through the week as we have faced up to our ‘new normal’ and are proud to serve our community knowing we are making a difference.
  • Uniform

    Wed 02 Sep 2020

We are aware of some issue with our uniform suppliers. Please be assured that we will deal sensitively with any youngsters who are not wearing the correct uniform due to issues beyond their control.

As the first day of term comes around let me take the opportunity to thank you for your continued support as we navigate strange waters. We will do our level best to return to a new normal and to ensure that our youngsters get the best deal possible given the current pandemic.
