  • School's Out for Summer!

    Fri 20 Jul 2018

I’d like to take the opportunity to say thank you to everyone involved with our school: the staff, governors and parents & our PTA. I know everyone genuinely cares about our school and the children and sincerely wants the best for them. Thank you for your understanding this year; thank you for doing everything you can for the children; thank you for your grit and determination and of course for your support. It is a collective effort of everyone that has resulted in the successes this year.

One of the most important gifts we can offer young children is a positive view of themselves. Without this gift, they will flounder throughout life and be constantly seeking re-assurance from others as they cannot see it from within.

Thank you, parents, for bringing your children to school every day and trusting us with them. As a father myself, I know that they are the most precious thing in your life and it is a privilege to be a part of their development and their lives. Have a lovely, restful summer holiday and I look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday 4th September, energised and excited for the new term.

  • Year 6 Leavers

    Thu 19 Jul 2018

To our parents of our Year 6 children,

I give back your child that you entrusted us in our care all those years ago. I give them back to you a few pounds heavier, inches taller, months wiser, more responsible and more mature than they were when they first started with us.  Although they would have attained their growth in spite of us, it has been a pleasure and privilege to watch their personality unfold day by day.  Take care of them, for they are precious.  I will always be interested in you, wherever you go, whatever you do, whoever you become.  Your joys and sorrows: I’ll always be happy to share.  We’ve heard your aspirations, admired your dedication, we’ve dried your tears and wiped your grazed knees… the future is waiting for you… Congratulations on your day Year 6; be the best version of you, and best of luck in your future.

    Thank you.

Primary School.

If you are unable to attend, we will upload the slides & information onto our website for you to look at in your own time.

  • Book Look

    Wed 11 Jul 2018

Thank you for everyone who came yesterday to look at the children's work. I was sorry to hear that some parents/carers weren’t sure who the 'Book Look Open Evening’ was intended for yesterday. I can see that, at a glance, it could be perceived that it was intended for Year 5 as in the recent newsletter it reads: Book Look Open Evening (3:30- 6pm) + an opportunity for Y5 parents to view the 11+ familiarisation paper + a viewing of photos & video from the Y5/6 residential trip.

If you have any queries or if you're unsure, speak to us at school please.

The intention was for families to pop in (informally) to look at the children’s work and it also opens up the opportunity for parents to talk with their children’s teacher. Please be assured that this hasn’t been a missed opportunity; all the children’s books will be going home with them at the end of the year. Some parents spoke to us before yesterday and explained they couldn’t make it and asked if they could pop in after school one night before Friday next week: that is perfectly okay too – we’re all happy to accommodate parents who wish to see how their child has gotten on and have a chance to talk to the teacher. If you would like to pop in, you’re very welcome to.

With our new permanent Administrative Team in place now, from September we will be sending out weekly scheduled reminders of key dates and events for the week as well as (a clearer, more specific) newsletter. The first newsletters each term will just be dates and information about forthcoming events over the term (one to keep to transfer to diaries). Please read the newsletter and dates carefully.

Please don’t feel like you’ve missed an opportunity; you’re welcome to pop in if you’re free after school and the children will be bringing his books home next week.
