Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Films of the children’s Christmas performance can now be watched from our website. Visit: Come & See RE… Collective Worship for ‘A Little Bird Told Me’ and ‘Stable Manners.’
Our Key Stage 2 Christmas performance is on Friday 17th December (aiming for a 9:30 start). For parents/carers intending to attend, please could you be mindful to wear a mask and take a lateral flow test before coming to church.
We had planned to 'stream' it for anyone unable or uncomfortable attending; unfortunately the team who set the church IT equipment up are still suffering with the after effects of coronavirus. I will revert to plan 'B' and film & edit the performance together before uploading it to our website for families to enjoy together.
Today's daily guidance from the DfE has included the following information (below) which I'm sharing with you all:
"From Tuesday 14 December, a new national approach to daily testing for contacts of COVID-19 is being introduced (including until the end of this term). All adults who are fully vaccinated and children aged 5 to 18 years and 6 months, identified as a contact of someone with COVID-19 – whether Omicron or not – should take a lateral flow device (LFD) test every day for 7 days instead of self-isolating. Daily testing by close contacts will help to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Once notified by NHS Test and Trace as a close contact, all eligible staff, pupils and students should take an LFD each day for 7 days and report the results through the Online Reporting System and to their setting. If they test negative, they can continue to attend their education setting. Outside of the education setting, they should continue to follow the advice set out in the Sunday 12 December press release. This approach should also be adopted over the winter break and on return in January.
If they test positive, they should self-isolate and order a PCR test to confirm the result. If the PCR is positive, they must self-isolate for 10 days. If the PCR test is negative, they no longer need to self-isolate but should continue to carry out the remainder of the daily tests, and only need to isolate if it is positive.
For primary aged children LFD test kits are available through the usual routes (community test sites, local pharmacies or online)."

We are inviting the children to replace their school tops for their festive tops in return for a donation here: https://christmas.savethechildren.org.uk/fundraising/cjd210003604
The children's remaining clothes should be school uniform as normal.
The Christmas Disco is continuing as planned on Friday and tickets can still be purchased via ParentPay. Please refer back to our previous newsletters for timings & prices. Details on dropping off/picking up are...
Drop Off: hall-side. Please can adults remain outside of the hall foyer at drop off.
Pick Up: outside main reception at the front of the school please – the lighting here is better for everyone.
The Bluebirds, Eagles & Falcons Nativity performance can be enjoyed here: https://www.claypoleprimary.org/collective-worship/
Unfortunately, the team who were preparing the online stream of tomorrow’s EYFS/KS1 nativity have tested positive for COVID-19. Plan B is for school to film it tomorrow using our cameras then edit it together and post it on our website for families to enjoy later that day.
For those attending tomorrow’s performance: it is a 10am start in St Peter’s Church. To continue to protect our community and keep infections low, we strongly encourage masks are worn inside church and that a lateral flow test is taken beforehand. Seating is limited; please be mindful of the number of family members planning to attend. To help circulate air in church, we will leave the door open too. Once the performances are finished, parents/carers will leave church first before the children.
