    Childhood Infections

Children should be kept at home if they are unwell as they will recover more quickly and avoid the spread of diseases further.  Our staff are only trained to provide immediate first aid.  If an emergency arises and it is necessary to send a child to hospital, we will make contact with you as soon as we can. It is imperative that the school has the home telephone number for each child and also a contact number in case of emergency. Please keep your details up to date.

In accordance with Health Protection Agency guidleines, the following list of some of the most communicable diseases and skin infections will give you an idea of how long affected children should be kept away from school.  Please visit www.hpa.org.uk or our website if you would like any further advice or information.

It is very important you do not allow your child to come back before the recommended period because even though they may appear to be better, they can still be carrying the virus which can cause other children to catch the sickness.

    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Author's working with children

Fri 04 Mar 2016 Martyn Wells

This morning, our children had the amazing experience of working with and talking to a soon-to-be published author Lizzie Higgins (author pseudonym Lily Divall) and poet Lesley Marshall.  The children were able to ask them questions about their work, how they went from writing to being published and what happens when the dreaded 'writer's block' strikes!  Lizzie also bought in the concept artwork for her book cover.

Thank you to everyone for coming to school in such wonderful costumes in celebration of World Book Day.  It was wonderful to see such an eclectic range of book characters and interests.  Clearly a lot of effort has gone into them - well done and thank you again.
