Believe And Achieve: To Be The Best That We Can Be

Kingfishers

Welcome to the Kingfishers!

Spring Term – Great Adventurers!

This term our Theme is Pioneers, with a History focus. We will be asking 'How have people changed the world by inventing machines and new processes?'  We will take flight with the Wright Brothers and piece together clues to work out why they were early aviators and why
the Wright brothers’ invention was so ground-breaking.  Some of the other key questions that we will explore over the term are:

'How did the Wright brothers manage to be the first to launch a man powered flight?'

'Why did the Wright brothers succeed where others had failed?'

'How do we know about their first successful flight, when it happened over 100 years ago?'

'How did flight change as a result of the Wright brothers’ work?'

We will also compare the Wright Brothers with other great adventurers, such as Amy Johnson and Amelia Earhart. Finally, we will design and create a plaque to commemorate their great achievements.

You're a pioneer ... so get ready to go 'Up, up, and away'!

No one should feel left out everyone should feel included.
