Ancient Greece - Why did Ancient Greece lose its power?

 

Here are some questions we will be finding the answers to as we learn about Ancient Greece:

 

Who were the Ancient Greeks?

Where is Greece?

What are some of the geographical features?

Who was Alexander The Great? What did he accomplish?

What was daily life like?

Who were the Spartans?

Comparing the ancient and modern Olympic Games.

Who were the Gods & Goddesses?

What was the Trojan War?

 

Important Information 

  • Please make sure that you have the correct PE kit in school all week. We have two PE/Sport sessions. This term, Mondays will be tennis and Tuesdays cricket.
  • Maths, GaPS and reading homework will be set using your revision guide books on a Friday to be completed by the following Friday.
  • Children must make sure they are fluent in all of their times tables so should continue to practise these through Times Table Rockstars.
  • Children are expected to spend around 30 minutes per day reading their home reading book.

Spring Term: The Ancient Egyptians

This term our learning will focus around answering the question: How powerful were the Egyptians?

 

On our quest to find this answer we will be studying Egypt's geographical features including the River Nile and the Sahara Desert. We will also be learning what it was like to live in Ancient Egypt, Egyptian Gods and who was Tutankhamun?

In art we will be studying the Harlem resistance sculpture Augusta Savage

Important Information
