Inclusion and SEND

At Claypole Church Of England Primary School, we strive to provide a high-quality education to all children, enabling them to achieve their full potential. We believe that all children, including those identified as having special educational needs or a disability, as well as children who are gifted and/or talented, are entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum and to be fully included in all aspects of school life. We endeavour to promote an inclusive and nurturing ethos, promoting a sense of belonging and community, ensuring all children feel safe, secure and loved on a daily basis, with both their academic and social and emotional needs being met. In order to achieve this, we aim to respond to, and support, learners in ways that take account of their learning needs and varied life experiences. We believe that an inclusive education for all is about promoting equal opportunities for all learners, whatever their age, gender, ethnicity, impairment, attainment and background.

We strive to develop strong working relationships with parents and professionals to ensure that an individual’s Special Educational Needs and/ or Disability is met, enabling them to flourish. We strive to work collaboratively with both our parents and our children to ensure that the appropriate provision that an individual requires is personalised to their needs and that the child’s future aspirations and best interests are at the centre of each decision.

Inclusion is overseen by Mrs Boiston with SEND lead by Miss Kurvink.

If you're worried about your child’s development and/or learning of the provision for your child, please speak with your child's class teacher in the first instance or a member of our Inclusion Team [above].
