Autumn Term 2019
This term our topic is Scrumdiddlyumptious!
The Falcons have settled into their new class and they are working very hard.
We have been tucking in and enjoying a yummy journey of discovery, tasting fantastic fruits, venerable vegetables and tantalizing treats.
Additionally, later on this term, we will get busy in the kitchen and try baking our own bread and explore other tasty ingredients to include in them.
We'll learn how we can keep ourselves healthy by eating a balanced diet and taking plenty of regular exercise.
For our Harvest Festival we will be learning about Fair Trade and the miles our food has to travel before it arrives in the shops.
For more information about our topic see the Autumn Term Overview below.
Please make sure your child has their P.E.kit in school everyday. This term the children will be doing gymnastics on Wednesday with the gymnastic coach and Real P.E on Thursday with Mrs Hussein.
Homework will be set on Friday and must be in by Wednesday morning please. In addition to the homework, we would like your child to practise their reading and spellings at home everyday. When you hear them read please sign their reading record. Regular reading at home will help your child become more fluent and confident which will help them in all areas of the curriculum. Every Monday Year 3 children will have new spellings to practise and learn at home. They will be tested on the spellings on Friday morning. Year 2 children will have their spellings given to them on Monday and have their test the following Monday. Please encourage your child to learn their spellings as it will help them become more confident with their writing.
