Welcome to the Bluebirds class!
Only One You
Our theme in Reception for the Autumn is 'Only One You' the children will be learning about what makes them unique. They will learn about how they have changed since they were babies, growing up, dealing with emotions, senses, going to school and what it is to live as a human being.
Some of the key questions for this theme will be:
What do you like/dislike?
What makes you special?
Why is family important to you?
What makes a good friend?
What makes you feel happy?
PE days are Mondays and Tuesdays , please make sure that your child has the correct PE kit (including warm layers as we will be outside as much as possible). Please ensure that your child's PE kit is named! On Monday the children will practise and develop fundamental movement skills and on Tuesday the children will work with a dance coach to help develop their dance moves. Children will develop fine and gross motor skills, through handling equipment, weaving and writing.
Please take a look at the Key Class Information, Curriculum Letter and Termly Overview to see the other learning opportunities the children will experience throughout this half term.
Homework will be sent home with the children which will consist of learning the new sounds taught and practising letter formation these sheets do not need to be returned to school. However, it would be useful if you could send the plastic wallet each day.
We are really excited about welcoming all our new children to their reception class and look forward to all the fun we will have together during our Autumn term in reception.
