                  Welcome back Kingfishers!

We are very excited about our next topic, 'STIG'. Our term will begin with a little bit of time travel! We will find ourselves in Britain, thousands of years ago, during the Stone Age. We will find out about how people lived and how life changed throughout this period of time. During our Science lessons we will learn about rocks and minerals, while our Art lessons will allow us to explore stone age cave paintings. As we continue to move through time, we will learn about the Bronze and Iron ages until we finally arrive at Romans. So prepare to be brave Gladiators Kingfishers!

Our trip to Creswell Crags will allow us to venture into some genuine cave dwellings, where some of the earliest humans lived. We will also learn about Stone Age music and how the earliest sounds were used to celebrate and communicate. Remember to wear sensible footwear and bring a packed lunch.

You will now also be having French lessons, delivered by Madame Wilson, every other Wednesday afternoon. PE will be on Tuesdays when you will have swimming; don't forget your towels! Our Real PE lessons will take place on Wednesdays, so please make sure you remember to bring an outdoor PE kit that fits!

Your homework this year will be set on Thursdays and you will need to hand it in by the following Thursday at the latest. You will also have weekly spellings and we hope you will continue to enjoy reading every day. Don't forget to record it!

So let's prepare to travel through time and have lots of fun exploring life from the Stone Age to the Romans.
