Summer Term 2019
This term our topic is Traders and Raiders.
We sail back to the Dark Ages, where battles were rife and fear reigned! Find out about the life of the Saxons and meet the blood-thirsty Vikings – never before had such terror swept the land. Are you ready to shine a light on the dangerous and deadly Dark Ages?
It’s probably the most famous date in English History. These are troubled times and there is danger afoot. A much-loved king is dead and a French Duke has staked a claim for our Kingdom; not to mention the other wannabe monarchs!
For more information about our topic see the Summer Term Overview below.
This term we'll learn to dance around the May pole and we'll perform our dance at the school Summer Fair. Hope you like it! We also have Sports Day to look forward to so get practising your skipping and running!
Please make sure your child has their P.E.kit in school everyday. This term the children will be doing P.E on Monday and Friday. If the weather is good we will be doing Tennis outside.
Homework will be set on Friday and must be in by Wednesday morning please. In addition to the homework, we would like your child to practise their reading and spellings at home everyday. When you hear them read please sign their reading record. Regular reading at home will help your child become more fluent and confident which will help them in all areas of the curriculum. Every Monday children will have new spellings to practise and learn at home. They will be tested on the spellings on Friday morning. Please encourage your child to learn their spellings as it will help them become more confident with their writing.
